Best acoustic guitar song search launched by NME writer
Music lovers are being asked to contribute to a debate on which acoustic guitar song is the best of all time.
NME writer Luke Lewis wrote on the music magazine's website that acts such as Stornoway, Bombay Bicycle Club and Mumford and Sons are contributing to a resurgence in the musical instrument's popularity.
He asked readers to come up with suggestions for their favourite acoustic guitar track, which he said could come from artists as diverse as Bob Dylan to Dashboard Confessional.
"Think of this blog post as a love note to all things unamplified, a hymn to the unplugged," stated Lewis.
Earlier this year, Dylan pulled out his acoustic guitar to give a special performance at the White House.
He played The Times They Are A-Changin' as part of the annual celebration of the American civil rights movement held in the presidential building.
Other musicians in attendance at the event included Smokey Robinson, Joan Baez and Yolanda Adams.Posted on 14 May 2010 15:30 to category : Music News
