Belfast City Hall showcases Titanic violin
The instrument is the belonging of the iconic ship's band leader Wallace Hartley and was recovered from an attic in Yorkshire seven years ago. The violin is set to be auctioned at the end of the month, the BBC reports.
Henry Aldridge & Son, Titanic specialist auction house experts, are expecting that the rare instrument will bring in a record sum of money with many predicting the figures to enter into the hundreds of thousands of pounds when it goes under the hammer.
Historians and enthusiasts will only have a few more days to see the artefact in Belfast before it is taken away for auction.
In it's day, the Titanic was described as being the "unsinkable ship" but these views were rendered false when the vessel struck an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York in April 1912.
The ship went down with over 1,500 souls and remains one of the most talked about maritime disasters ever.
