Beatles album cover praised ahead of anniversary
Posted on 7 Aug 2009 13:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
The cover of The Beatles' final album has been hailed as an incredibly moving image.

One of the images was later used on the cover of what turned out to be the last album they recorded together, which they named after the street.
Jamie Bowman, an expert at The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool, said he finds the LP cover very moving, as it shows the band united ahead of their break-up.
Speaking to the Liverpool Daily Post, he added that while Abbey Road is famous for being the last album The Beatles ever made, it is also an amazing record in its own right.
"It is a fitting finale to an amazing career," Mr Bowman commented.
Indeed, he described the medley on Side Two of the record, which includes tracks such as Carry That Weight, Golden Slumbers and The End, as one of "the most inspired passages of music ever made".
Mr Bowman added that electric guitar player George Harrison emerged as a world-class songwriter on this album with compositions such as Here Comes The Sun and Something.
