Beady Eye write hits, not clangers

Beady Eye claim there is not one ''clanger'' - or bad track - on their debut album.

Beady Eye claim there is not one "clanger" on their debut album.

The band - formed by Liam Gallagher from the other members of Oasis when his brother walked out, splitting the group in 2009 - say they were incredibly creative when they first went into the studio and proud of how every track on their debut album, 'Different Gear Still Speeding' sounds.

Guitarist Gem Archer told NME magazine: "To be in a new band at this stage of your life is just fing amazing, man. When we were writing the album it was like, first tune - fing great. The next one - wow.

"Then you get up to about six or seven and you start thinking, 'When are we going to write a clanger? And we didn't man. There's not one."

Beady Eye have a more democratic approach to songwriting than in Oasis - with Gem and the band's other guitarist, Andy Bell both contributing heavily to the album, which Liam thinks feels "natural".

Liam said: "When I'm singing anything that Gem or Andy have written, it feels absolutely natural for me. There's not a single song of theirs where I'm like, 'Fk this, it doesn't feel like me', or that I can't get involved in. It's like putting on a great f*ing jacket, you know what I mean? I know that I can wear it well."

'Different Gear Still Speeding' is released on February 28.
