Beady Eye debut better than Oasis'
Liam Gallagher thinks Beady Eye's debut album is as good as Oasis' 'Definitely Maybe'.
The 'Bring The Light' singer said he reckons his new band's 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' can easily match the genre defining 1994 debut recorded by his former band, which propelled them to superstar status.
He told NME magazine: "The musicians are better than Oasis at the time of 'Definitely Maybe', without a doubt.
"I'm singing as well as I ever have."
He added the album is "up there, no question" with 'Definitely Maybe' and declared the band are "gonna be f***ing massive".
Beady Eye formed on the ashes of Oasis - who split after Liam fell out with his brother, the band's main songwriter, Noel Gallagher last summer - and sees Liam joined by ex-Oasis men Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
Gem has previously described recording their debut album with producer Steve Lillywhite, who has previously worked with The Rolling Stones.
He said: "Steve Lillywhite was a ball of energy and made us focus and work really quickly. It was that vibe again of trying to create a proper debut album - and that's exactly what I think we've done. It sounds exciting."
