BBC names The Drums as rising stars
The rockers were named as "rising stars" by the BBC, which included them in its list of the 15 most exciting acts for the next 12 months.
"Singer Jonathan Pierce gesticulates wildly like Ian Curtis swatting a fly, while sidekick Jacob Graham wields a tambourine like Bez's hippy brother," it commented.
The BBC also noted that the band's songs evoke other acts as diverse as The Cure, The Beach Boys, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed.
Music fans in Britain will be able to act on the BBC's recommendation for themselves when The Drums undertake a UK tour next year.
They will kick off at Newcastle on February 4th 2010, before calling at cities such as Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds and London.Posted on 7 Dec 2009 11:51 to category : Band / Celebrity News
