BBC bigs-up The Voice success
According to the BBC, the show managed 9.2 million on average across its run. Its average audience share, meanwhile, was apparently 38.5 per cent. Both numbers are the so-called consolidated figures.
BBC One controller Danny Cohen commented that the programme "had broken all records for a new entertainment show on the BBC".
"I'm really proud of the coaches, artists and producers who have achieved this," he said.
The show's coaches came in the form of pop stars Jessie J (Price Tag), Tom Jones (It's Not Unusual), The Script's Danny O'Donoghue (The Man Who Can't Be Moved) and The Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am (Don't Lie).
Singer Leanne Mitchell came first on the programme. Her song is currently in the singles chart in 45th position.
Music instruments seen on the programme during its time on TV included the guitar and the keyboard.
