BB King's electric guitar playing commended

According to Duke Robillard, the blues legend manages to keep a note ringing on his electric guitar without using feedback.
This, he said, is achieved simply by bending the last note and applying a finger vibrato technique, which gives his Gibson a natural sustain.
"That's a cool sound and it's not always easy to get," Robbillard commented.
"It's just from having the amp turned up."
Robillard added that King uses a much thicker and fatter tone than the one he favoured in the past.
He said this has been achieved by setting the VariTone on his electric guitar - Lucille - to the first position, which "beefs his sound up".
This comes shortly after 83-year-old King told Music Radar that his first ever guitar was a Gibson, as it was the only one he could afford at the start of his career.
