August Blur gigs on the way
The guitar band will be flexing their musical muscles prior to an Olympic-linked Hyde Park concert later in the year.
The long-established group behind sing-along classics like Stereotypes, Country House and Girls and Boys are set to spend the first week of August gigging. They'll visit Margate on the 1st, spend time in Wolverhampton on the 5th and 6th and head to Plymouth on the 7th.
The band - who recently heralded a new music box set - is made up of Dave Rowntree, Graham Coxon, Damon Albarn and Alex James. Their past LPs include Think Tank, Parklife and Blur.
Along with groups such as Manchester's Oasis (Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger) and Sheffield's Pulp (Disco 2000, Common People), they are often categorised within the Britpop brand of popular guitar music that was very popular during the 1990s.
