Arctic Monkeys up for two Mojo awards
Posted on 5 May 2010 14:51 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Guitar band Arctic Monkeys have been nominated for two Mojo awards.
The Sheffield rockers are up for the Best Live Act prize, as well as the award for Best Song for their single Crying Lightning.
Phil Alexander, Mojo's editor-in-chief, said the band's third album Humbug is their best yet, although it has not been received that well.
He told BBC 6 Music: "The best is yet to come from them and I think Alex Turner is turning into a phenomenal songwriter."
Fellow guitar band Kasabian are up for three prizes at the award ceremony, which will be held in London on June 10th 2010.
The Leicester group will contest the Best Song prize with Arctic Monkeys for their hit Fire and are also up for the Best Album gong for their West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum record.
A nod for Best Live Act completes their trio of nominations.
Florence and the Machine are up for four awards, including one for Best Album for Lungs, which won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize last year.
