Arctic Monkeys announce homecoming gigs

Arctic Monkeys are to play two huge homecoming gigs in their native city of Sheffield later this year.

The electric guitar band have announced they will be performing at the Don Valley Bowl on June 10th and 11th, with tickets for both dates set to go on sale this Friday (February 11th).

They will be supported at both dates by Miles Kane, who has previously played with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner in their side-project The Last Shadow Puppets.

For the opening gig, The Vaccines and Dead Sons will also be on stage, while the support acts for the second show include Mabel Love and Anna Calvi.

Arctic Monkeys, who are currently close to completing work on their fourth album, have already been announced for a number of European festival dates later this year.

In June and July, the electric guitar band are lined up to play at the Rock A Field Festival in Luxembourg, Rock Werchter in Belgium, Portugal's Super Bock Super Rock Festival and the Gurten Festival in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, a six-track EP of songs written by Alex Turner for the forthcoming film Submarine is set to be released in March.
