Arcade Fire's compulsive challenge
Posted on 7 Jul 2010 16:30 to category : Band / Celebrity News

Arcade Fire found recording their new album difficult because they are "so compulsive" about getting everything right.
The group's frontman Win Butler - who is married to fellow band member Regine Chassagne - said despite having to cut down the number of songs on the record, they are "really excited" about new 16-track LP, 'The Suburbs'.
He revealed to website ZaneLowe.com: "I think we forgot that having more songs is that much harder. Having twice as many songs is twice as hard because we're so compulsive about getting everything right.
"Usually by the time we finish a record I never want to hear it again, but this one I found myself actually wanting to listen to it. I'm really excited with how it came out."
The follow-up to 2007's 'Neon Bible' - which is due for release on August 2 - is out of the band's "comfort zone" but came together naturally as soon as the indie rock band began playing together again.
Win explained: "It's a little out of our comfort zone.
"We took the better part of a year off after 'Neon Bible', and we didn't really have a plan as to how it was all going to come back together when we started playing together again. There was no plan but it all started to come together."
