Apple's New iPad Could Be Good News For Recording Musicians
Whilst not Apple's flagship tablet, its capabilities will far surpass the specifications of its predecessor. With the classic 9.7 inch display, the iPad is also fitted with a A9 chip, which lends to an abundantly improved capacity for performance and memory retention. With an increase of 70% in CPU performance and 90% in graphics performance , the A9 chip lends itself to those who need a fast acting and reliable processor that is adept at both music production and recording.
Despite such advancements and an abundance of impressive specs however, comes an unfortunate downfall. If your requirements exceed that of the smallest GB capacity on offer you will have to take the considerably large leap of purchasing the 128 GB model, as no 64 GB version will be available for purchase. The other alternative would be to go for the comparatively cheap iPad mini 4, which alas features a less powerful A8 processor.
Featuring a 10 hour battery life, the device will be perfect for those musicians who work on the go and who may not have frequent access to charging ports. With this prolonged capacity, you no longer have to worry about losing your projects half way through completion as your device inadvertently and inconveniently shuts itself down.
Fast becoming a vessel for musicians to record and produce their music in an often transient environment, Apple devices are serving as the choice of many a modern day artist and producer. Alternative British group Gorillaz famously recorded their 2014 album 'The Fall' on group co-founder Damon Albarn's iPad whilst on the American leg of their Plastic Beach World, giving even further impetus to the movement.
