Apple Music Will Pay Royalties After U-Turn

Apple Music has declared that they will pay royalties to musicians during the free trial period after protest from music labels and artist Taylor Swift.

The international pop-star had taken to social media to air her displeasure that Apple would not pay royalties to music labels and publishers during the initial 3 month free trial period asking for the company to re-think its plans.

Seemingly Apple adhered and declared that they will now pay royalties to artists to during the customers free trial period with Apple Music. Sources claim that Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue had personally called Taylor Swift to announce their decision.

Apple Music is the latest offering from the company offering a music streaming service, akin to that of Spotify, which is currently the most used streaming site in the world. Apple music is due to launch at the end of June 2015.

Taylor even tweeted: “I am elated and relieved. Thank you for your words of support today. They listened to us.”
