Ampeg signs bass guitarist Stanley Clarke
The company has declared its delight at the deal it has made with the star, describing Clarke as its "greatest" signing, reports MI-Pro.
Clarke has been making music for more than four decades, challenging the traditional notion of how a bass guitar should be played along the way.
The Stanley Clarke Band have also been recently nominated for two Grammys, one for best contemporary jazz album and the other for best pop instrumental performance.
His first official appearance for Ampeg will see Clarke signing autographs at the NAMM conference in Anaheim on January 15th 2011.
Clarke has recently completed an eight-date tour of Japan and is set to play live again in February, when he will perform several shows in the US.
He is to participate in a four-night residency at the Jazz at the Bistro venue in St Louis as part of the run of gigs.
