Alice Cooper's Hall Of Fame tuxedos
Alice Cooper had "special tuxedos" made for him and his band's induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Fame last night (14.03.11).
The shock rocker was officially admitted to the hall in a ceremony in New York, and Alice had special suits cut for him and his original band, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith.
Alice told Billboard.com: "We've actually got special tuxedos made, special Alice Cooper tuxedos.
"We'll do the tuxedos, but definitely our style. Within our sense of humour."
Although he now works with a different set of regular musicians, on his forthcoming album, 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare' - A sequel to his 1975 record 'Welcome to My Nightmare' - Alice is reunited with his original backing musicians on the track 'When Hell Comes Home', and he says they quickly hit upon the exact sound he wanted.
Alice explained: "I was going to go in and say, 'What I want this thing to have is this live, 70s sound' - but I didn't have to say that. That's just the way they play.
"They just had that sound you couldn't go in and try to direct them to get. That's the normal way they play!"
Alice - famed for his theatrical stage shows, including appearing to use a guillotine, gallows and an electric chair onstage and splattering his bands and audiences alike with fake blood - was inducted into the Hall Of fame by Rob Zombie.
The other acts to be inducted were Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr John, and Darlene Love.Posted on 15 Mar 2011 08:30 to category : Music News
