Alex Turner donates Fender Stratocaster to Haiti auction
Posted on 22 Jan 2010 14:20 to category : Instruments News

The Fender Stratocasterguitar that featured in the Arctic Monkeys' video for I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor is being given away by the band's frontman Alex Turner.
It is being sold on eBay to raise money for Oxfam's Haiti earthquake emergency response appeal.
A host of other musicians have also contributed items to the charity auction.
As well as Turner's Fender Stratocaster, Oxfam has also received a Rolanddrum machine from My Chemical Romance, reports NME.
Meanwhile, The Magic Numbers have pledged to play an acoustic guitar gig in the house of whoever makes the highest bid for their services.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn has said he will record a new piece of music for whoever bids the most in the appeal.
Earlier this week, it was announced that a cover of REM's Everybody Hurts will be released as a charity single to help earthquake victims in the country.
Money from the record, which is rumoured to include potential performances from Sir Paul McCartney, Take That and Rod Stewart, will go to the Helping Haiti and Disasters Emergency Committee.
