Alex Turner: I can't remember how to write hit singles
The revelation, which will be a worry to the Arctic Monkeys' army of fans, was made to the Sun newspaper.
Turner, who used to date model turned TV presenter Alexa Chung, said he can't remember how to write hit singles that he is famous for.
"I don't know what that is anymore, it's a different landscape these days," he said.
The Arctic Monkeys frontman, who is currently sporting a fashionable 50s-inspired quiff, also knocked his ability to sing.
"I was never a singer. I have had to practice at that and writing melodies is something that didn't come naturally. I was more comfortable writing lyrics," he told the newspaper.
"I am still working on it but I think we are getting there with the singing thing."
The hit indie band recently stated that they believed they had finally cracked the US market.
They cited their latest album, Suck It and See, as being the breakthrough they've all been waiting for.
