Singer Aiden Grimshaw has suggested that his change of circumstance post The X Factor has been "amazing".

Chatting to Digital Spy, the crooner commented that he once had a job at food chain Pizza Hut in the north of England which is a far cry from his life now as a pop star.

"I used to work in a Pizza Hut up north and think I was quids in when I got £10 in tips at the end of a shift. Now I'm doing interviews about my new album - it's amazing really!" the pop star who first gained fame on the ITV1 show said.

The crooner, whose first single goes by the name of Is This Love, was on The X Factor in the same year as Cher Lloyd (the singer behind Swagger Jagger and Want U Back), Matt Cardle (Run For Your Life) and boy band One Direction (One Time, Gotta Be You). Cardle was the eventual winner that year.

Grimshaw, who performed the likes of Nothing Compares 2 U, Diamonds Are Forever and Thriller on the show, has also told Digital Spy that he was signed during the course of the X Factor's post-season arena tour but paused before bringing out records, primarily "to build up a good team of people and make good music".
