Adele trumps Beatles and Pink Floyd
Adele's second studio album 21 has now spent an amazing 16 weeks at the top of the US Billboard chart, matching the accomplishments of the soundtrack to hit movie Titanic.
This means it has overtaken The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd's The Wall, which both respectively spent 15 weeks at the top of the album charts.
It appears that appetite for the singer shows no signs of diminishing, with a further 104,000 copies of her sophomore record flying off the shelves last week.
The album has racketed in an astonishing 17 million sales across the world, making her one of the most successful stars in recent times.
Adele has been nominated for three Brit Awards in the categories of best British Female Artist, British Album and Single (for Someone Like You).
She is also up for six Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year (Rolling in the Deep), Album of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
