Adele record could knock Foo Fighter's album off number one spot
Adele could be laying claim to the number one chart spot again if she manages to knock electric guitar group Foo Fighter's off the top position.
The singer's album 21 had been the best selling record in the UK for the past 11 weeks, making it the longest ever a female artist had held the highest spot.
However, last week saw the end of her reign when the American band's new record entitled Wasted Light jumped in lead.
Now, the Metro reports that Adele - who has also acheived success in the US with the release - could be set to prove her record is still the most popular among UK music buyers as it is on track to reclaim the top position.
Instead, the electric guitar group will fall to second place, with Adele's debut record 19 remaining at number three.
Foo Fighter fans may be slightly disappointed but will be cheered up by the news that Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiftlett, Nate Mendel and Pat Smear will be appearing at the iTunes Festival in London this year.
The gig will take place on July 11th 2011 at the Roadhouse as part of the 30-day celebration of music.
