Acoustic guitarist wins Â£1,000 in Guildford competition
An acoustic guitar player has walked away with Â£1,000 after wowing the crowds with his performance at the finals of a music competition.
Declan Zapala was voted as the winner of 'The Big One Â£1,000 Talent Show' after reaching the final alongside five other acts at the Backline Live venue in Guildford, reports Get Surrey.
Andy Kettle from Global Music, one of the judges that put Zapala through to the final, said he was a worthy winner.
"There wasn't a part of the instrument he didn't use," he remarked. "I've never seen a guitar played like that."
Earlier this year, a BBC Worldwide survey discovered that 18 per cent of boys and nine per cent of girls want play the guitar.
