Abraham Laboriel's Line 6 Story

The world's greatest session bassist reveal why he chose Line 6
Abraham Laboriel's Line 6 Story
Abraham Laboriel is a session bassist with over 4,000 recordings to his name, working with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Growing up in Mexico City, Laboriel's father and brother were musicians, so his early guitar playing was influenced by Latin flavours and later by the Jazz musicians he had the opportunity to meet.

Due to a childhood injury to his left hand impeding his progress, Laboriel switched from guitar to bass at 24, and the rest is history, he's the most popular session bassist ever.

Now using a Line 6 StageSource L3t loudspeaker, Laboriel explains how his full-range system differs from a traditional bass amp rig.

"The sound is just so clear! StageSource L3t delivers a sonic clarity that the ear is naturally inclined to enjoy. It gives me studio-quality sound - very clean and clear with lots of headroom."

Abraham's rig is set up for flat response, but Variax Acoustic Modeling is turned on when playing extremely soft. The 'Floor Monitor' and 'Playback' Smart Speaker modes create a big, fat sound with no colouring.

"My personality as a player isn't limited by the system, but rather enhanced by the purity. StageSource L3t expresses my versatility with total perfection."

This means that the bass legend can use the rig for recording direct, even on video shoots. The StageSource L3t sounds so good it can be miked directly.
