A man breaks longest 'DJ set' world record
Smokin' Joe Mekhael set a new world record after spending 132 hours and 30 minutes behind his DJ equipment.
He could have continued for even longer but realised that he risked causing serious harm to himself and decided to call it a day.
"I love entertaining you more than anything and the pain and ringing in my ears has made me decide to stop before I risk permanent hearing damage and the rest of my DJ career," he told In the Mix.
The exhausted DJ broke the previous record set by Brazil's DJ King, which was a mammoth five day and 18-minute long extravaganza.
"I told all of you from the start that if you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything and I have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt," he said to the news provider.
"I want all of you to realise that we all have the power within us to perform miracles, to change our circumstances for the better through the power of positive thinking and positive deeds."
