Dreadnought Body Shape
The Tanglewood Heritage features a dreadnought body shape, offering an enormous voice, and a well-balanced tone. The dreadnought shape was originally designed for hard pick attack, however the Heritage can handle many different genres and styles of play with equal ease. The big body is ideal for players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought size. The sheer volume the Heritage can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter, as vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume, as it will sing as loud as you do.
Solid Engelmann Spruce Top & Solid Rosewood Body
The Heritage Dreadnought features a stunning engelmann spruce top, which sonically offers a mature tone that can be found on many of the older high-quality guitars. Engelmann spruce yields a slightly richer tone than sitka spruce, providing sweet singing harmonics, and long lasting sustain; chords will blend beautifully. In comparison to sitka spruce, engelmann spruce is lighter in weight, and less stiff, resulting in strong, rich overtones. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive strumming to finger-picking. This stunning tonewood is contrasted with solid rosewood back and sides, providing the Heritage with bright attack and sparkly sizzle. Rosewood is a versatile tonewood that offers a wide range of possibilities and is an ideal choice for blues styled players, as it delivers a full low end with a bright treble, and clear articulation.
Mahogany Neck Topped With Ebony Fingerboard
The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that provides a very responsive bright, snappy, crisp attack, coupled with a smooth sustain and bright top-end. The Heritage Dreadnought neck is crafted from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. In addition to its superb tone, the Heritage features a one-piece volute neck construction, this provides a reinforced structure the neck, offering durability and stability.
The Heritage Dreadnought is a well-crafted, beautifully designed acoustic guitar that is finished with traditional styling and Tanglewood's sophisticated eye for ornate details. This stunning guitar features a striped Tanglewood styled sound-hole rosette, inlaid in mother-of-pearl with matching hexagon shaped fingerboard markers for added shimmer and elegance. Its engelmann spruce top is complemented by a red marbled effect pick-guard and herringbone binding, projecting a high-class, sophisticated finish to an already stunning appearance. To top off its classy look, the signature Tanglewood brand logo graces the head-plate, featuring contrasting gold hardware, and luxury kluson style machineheads.
