More Than a Reissue of the Vintage 80’s FL-9

The FL-9 is based off the vintage FL-9 flanger that Maxon created for Ibanez back in the 80s, taking most of the elements and adding a modern twist to deliver a wide range of classic chorus and flanging effects. Designed with a Panasonic MN3207 bucket brigade IC at its heart, the FL-9 delivers a flawless operation with an incredibly clear, clean sound that enhances the playing experience. Featuring a wide operation range and full frequency response, the pedal can work with any input signal to create a diverse range of modulations. A selection of controls allows for fine tuning, creating shimmering chorus sounds and vibrato though hollow metallic overtones, to thick jet-like flanging sweeps. To give it a modern feel, Maxon have added a compander-based noise reduction circuit to keep clock noise and comb-filter hiss to a complete minimum, creating an incredibly quite operation.

About Maxon

Maxon started out in Japan in 1965 under the name Nisshin Onpa, manufacturing guitar pickups before producing OEM products for other companies. Nisshin Onpa was responsible for designing and manufacturing many legendary pedals while working in partnership with Ibanez, including the TS-808/TS808 and TS9 tube screamers. Although many of the pedals Maxon created were released under the Ibanez name, Maxon was producing pedals under their own name, and in 2002 when the two companies parted way, Maxon began to push its name as a manufacturer of high-quality effects pedals. Today Maxon produce "hard-to-find" vintage type effects pedals, and are used by many artists such as Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen, Steve Stevens, Brad Whitford, and many more.
