70’s Style Fuzz Distortion

The Maxon Earth pedal recreates the legendary sound of early 70’s transistor distortion pedals, using analogue circuitry to provide the warm, woolly transistor distortion. Based on the vintage ram’s head big muff pi, the FEA10 delivers an aggressive sound with a prominent mid-scoop while still retaining excellent note definition, allowing you to deliver distorted tones without losing any depth. Simplistic controls allow tweaking to the pedals effect, with level and tone shaping the overall fuzz tone, while the sustain can be used create intense distortion with a long sustain that cleans up nicely when the guitars volume is turned down. Not only does the fuzz pedal create a massive sound, it also offers a fat, tight bottom end with a harmonically rich, warm top end.

About Maxon

Maxon started out in Japan in 1965 under the name Nisshin Onpa, manufacturing guitar pickups before producing OEM products for other companies. Nisshin Onpa was responsible for designing and manufacturing many legendary pedals while working in partnership with Ibanez, including the TS-808/TS808 and TS9 tube screamers. Although many of the pedals Maxon created were released under the Ibanez name, Maxon was producing pedals under their own name, and in 2002 when the two companies parted way, Maxon began to push its name as a manufacturer of high-quality effects pedals. Today Maxon produce "hard-to-find" vintage type effects pedals, and are used by many artists such as Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen, Steve Stevens, Brad Whitford, and many more.
