Just like all great SGs of the past five decades, the Gibson SG Classic has a body crafted from solid mahogany in the asymmetrical "double-horned" deep double-cutaway design. A light and supremely resonant wood, mahogany gives this guitar outstanding tonal richness and depth, with plenty of clarity and sustain. Coupled with the SG's characteristic beveled edge - a big part of this model's distinctive styling - the mahogany's light weight also enhancing playing comfort.
The mahogany tonewood is superbly rendered by two of Gibson's popular pickups: P-90s for that 60s look and sound. These pickups have a slightly mellower and creamier sound than the usual humbuckers - perfect for blues and rock players.
This Gibson also comes with a complementary Gibson Deluxe Gigbag. If you want simple, well-designed power coupled with bold styling, look no further than the Gibson SG Classic.
