Sugar Pine Body
the Hellhound has a body crafted form sugar pine, a wood that was used on old guitars before companies started using alder and ash wood. The incredibly lightweight wood offers excellent resonance, creating vintage tones with a full midrange and a round high end. The guitar is designed with a classic shape and given an aged spearmint finish to create a stylishly vintage look that reflects its old school tones.
Maple Neck and Fingerboard
With a neck and fingerboard both constructed from Maple, the guitar’s tone becomes tight and cut, providing an edge of sizzle to the highs and firmness to the lows. The Maple wood provides bright characteristics to the overall tone, whilst offering a snappy attack in the midrange. When the strings are played hard, the wood produces more punch to the tone, and when played with light or medium picking, then tone has excellent clarity.
The GJ2 Hellhound features a set of Habanero pickups to deliver a range of tonal possibilities, perfect for playing a variety of musical styles. In the bridge position is a low heat, single coil pickup which provides powerfully harsh tones. The single coil pickup can scream as much as you want, whilst also offering a clean smooth sound, perfect for country, blues, and rock. In the neck position is the T.D 91 which is built with a soapbar design and provides a layer of power to the guitars sound. The versatile T.D 91 offers lots of body and plenty of character, creating a warm bite that adds a layer of depth to your sound.
A traditional bridge is added the guitar, adding to the classic aesthetic of the Hellhound whilst offering incredible string stability. The bridge houses the guitars single coil pickup, enhancing the tonal output and giving it a slight twang for a classic feel. Incorporating a string through body construction, the bridge provides improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the string to the body.
Hipshot Staggering Tuners
a set of Hipshot tuners are used on the Hellhound guitar, offering a precise turning ratio of 18:1 with quick string changes and excellent tuning stability. With an open gear design and a locking mechanism, the tuners have different post heights for a staggered layout resulting in no string tree.
Jescar 57110 Frets
Jescar 57110 frets and used on the fingerboard, built with stainless steel for a sturdy and strong construction, the frets will remain sturdy for many years. Each fret is precision cut and perfectly laid on to the fretboard, providing a smooth surface that won’t take away from the guitars sound.
