In early 2007 Dave Mustaine announced that he'd chosen to work with Dean Guitars to manufacture his signature guitars. The VMNT was born loosely based on a previous guitar he'd used throughout the 90's. Unlike many other signature series guitars, that are designed by manufacturers with little or no involvement from the artist themselves, Dave Mustaine's presence can definitely be felt in many of the design features of the Dean VMNT series guitars.
