Keyboard splits enable playing of a range of instrument sounds simultaneously across the keyboard, including the built-in drum sounds - great for developing rhythmic skills. The names of all voices, accompaniments and rhythms are printed conveniently on the instrument's front panel.
The stereo headphone output makes playing on headphones a pleasure. MIDI out enables connection to PC or Mac computers, permitting use of the 8815 as a master PC keyboard.
